"I'm
a young native Washingtonian of Irish/Mexican/American descent.
I have spent much of my life challenging rules and traditional viewpoints.
My photography reflects my life and the way I see the world. My
early work is 35mm but serendipity, through use of Holga and Woca
cameras, has taken me to another level with in-camera multiple exposures.
Sometimes my imagery is calm and relaxed, while at other times it
is utter chaos. This new perspective captures the complexity of
my world." - Cris McCarthy
Cris' work has been featured in a Washington
Post's Camera Works special features article and has appeared
in several DC area art galleries such as Easel Salon; Artomatic;
Anonymous Returns Show; Whitman-Walker Clinic's Art for Life Exhibition
and Auction; and Hickock, Warner Cole Architect's Artists Exhibition.
One of her panoramas, "Border Control",
currently hangs in the US Commissioner of Customs office.
